Hungarian Scouts Commemorate Freedom Fight

Hungarian Scouts Commemorate Freedom Fight-Carrying scout, Hungarian and American flags and singing scouting songs, more than 100 Hungarian Girl and Boy Scouts marked the 20th anniversary of the Hungarian Freedom Fight in Budapest 20 years ago. The scouts paraded from Public Square this morning, where the Hungarian flag was raised, to the Cardinal Mindszenty Plaza, 111 Lake Ave. Wreaths and flowers were placed at the plaque honoring the cardinal described as the "greatest fighter for freedom of all." Senator Robert Taft will be principal speaker at a program at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Lakeside Holiday Inn also commemorating the freedom fight. (Press photo by Bernie Noble)
