Hungarian dinner inspires a cookbook

Fund raising for any purpose means dedication, time and cooperation.
With these three ingredients plus a Hungarian menu the ladies of St. Emeric's Church will hold a "St. Emeric's Day Dinner" on Nov. 12, starting at 12:30 p.m. in the church basement.
In addition to the dinner, which will feature chicken soup with noodles, half-stuffed roast chicken, rice with giblets, peas and carrots, tossed salad and Hungarian filled horns for dessert, their cookbook will be introduced and sold.
"Favorite American and Hungarian Recipes submitted by the parishioners. The spiral-bound cookbook begins with relishes, jellies and pickles and includes popular Hungarian meat entrees such as goulash and chicken paprikas.
A large part of the cookbook is devoted to such favorite desserts and breads as Dobos torte, kalacs and the Hungarian nut horns that will be served at the 68th annual dinner. (All of the foods on the menu for the dinner are in the cookbooks.)
Since there is just one seating this year and reservations limited to 400, call for reservations early.
Cost is $3.50 for adults and $1.50 for children under 12. Call 524-1668, 781-7341) or 526-8009 for reservation.
