West Side Hall Center of Irish Society

The Irish are everywhere in Greater Cleveland but the center of Irish social life seems to be the West Side Irish American Hall, 9613 Madison Ave.
This it where old-timers meet old friends and recently arrived newcomers from Ireland come to meet other who hail from the same county in the old county.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings are especially popular with the sons and daughters of Erin.
Among the more active groups is the Cleveland Gaelic Society which concerns itself with the teaching of the Gaelic language, with the promotion of Gaelic dancing and other purely Irish activities.
The Gaelic Society's next Ceili Mor will be held Sunday evening. This means that there will be plenty of old-fashioned singing and dancing to Irish tunes.
This first Ceili Mor of the season will feature Mickey Farton, famed Irish accordionist, and Mrs. Helen Masterson who will accompany the Irish band. The program will start at 9 pm.
President of the Gaelic League of Cleveland is Gus Roland; Patrick O'Donnell is vice president; Mary Kelley and Jane Simmons are secretaries; Adrian Boland, treasurer; and Patrick Meeneghan, trustee.
